Posts do not have numbers assigned in discussions

The issue

A few years ago I migrated from another forum software to Flarum. Almost everything went fine but posts that remained unnumbered in the database. They are still sorted correctly because Flarum takes into the consideration date and time of posting, but neither of the posts from before doesn't have their specific links.

Do you have any suggestions on how can I assign numbers to unnumbered posts in older discussions?

hrvoje_hr there are some extensions that have renumbering logic, you could create a local command that goes over discussions that have posts without numbers to resort and -number them.

I gave it a shot, but I'm not sure this will work. It might need some testing etc.

update posts 
join (select row_number() over (order by created_at desc) number from posts) p
set number = p.number
where number IS NULL

Error in query (1052): Column 'number' in field list is ambiguous

I'm getting this error, which I do not understand, especially when there's nowhere in the database a column with the same ID (number)

hrvoje_hr i haven't even tested this against a database, so make sure to have that backup 😉

I had this extension but it was never updated for Flarum stable https://github.com/migratetoflarum/renumber-posts

I'm pretty sure it will still work just fine if you manage to bypass the Flarum version requirement. I don't think it's impacted by the Flarum 1.3 numbering changes.
