Flarum v1.4.0 Released

This is due to changes made between v1.3.1 and v1.4 which seem to have affected @clarkwinkelmann's tool. This is most likely the separation of the API payload from the main JS content.

I think "clarkwinkelmann" has fixed it.
I get the same result in 1.4, it's no different with 1.31

You all know what I think about Flarum itself: greatest advantage of flarum is that its source code is on MIT.
Soemone must have put huge amount of work into flarum: thats for sure. Still needs lots of work though.

1.4 and still no proper PWA? @luceos seriously? Same bugs that existed in 1.3 PWA are still not fixed in 1.4 PWA.

CyberGene we discovered an issue with that yes. The new, more scalable solution to setting the post number has this effect. I'm on mobile so I cannot find the issue for it.

Are posts deleted from this discussion? Because I’m seeing the issue I reported: it has new posts but Flarum shows it to me as read.

I thought that, since release was made by you (see this),, that PWA is part of the core ; maintained by core team.
BTW: Something of such importance ( people use handheld devices more than PCs/laptops ) should have been integrated into core long ago ( in fact it shold be one of the first things added to the core).

Flarum developers sometimes release separate extensions as individuals, those are not considered part of Flarum core or bundled extensions and Flarum is not responsible for maintaining them. In Flarum, community extensions are first-class citizens alongside core features, so the higher priority is placed on what can be feasibly maintained by the core development team, over bundling features that are easily obtained through our community extensions.

OK. understood. But still, PWA is so obvious thing nowadays that its a must-to-have in core.

Flarum has found a lot of success keeping community developers and core developers on peer level this way, and has done it going on 7 years now. Feel free to open a discussion in Proposals or Feedback on this subject, let's get back to the release in this discussion please.

Honestly, I prefer to work on our own platform, which, since flarum is based on MIT, is just based on flarum. We just forked flarum/flarum, as well as other repos, detached them from originals and continue from there.

Dont get me wrong: I fully understand what flarum is, what it tries to be, I just think that flarum's original author/s has made some extremely low-quality decisions with regards to flarum at the early stage of its existance. One of these decisions is making extensions first-class-citizens.

Working in this version add an "Author" label to posts so I could see the ones generated by the originator in a long thread via CSS?

It was discussed in this thread: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/26007-adding-author-label-to-posts/69 and other user report the problem to the flarum core.

Yes I review this extension but not have option to change the label name and avoid some extras.
In my case only need the label in "OP" or author" and if it is possible prefer add via CSS without extension.

This one is the original one that only shows the op label.

i don’t know if it can be done in pure css. But you can always change the labels’s name ( or any other words) of extensions by using Fof/linguist

Teddan Yes, in old Flarum version other user paste the code in pure CSS but with some changes in the core updates it stopped working. You can see in this thread
