How can I hide a discussion from everyone without attach a tag. I would like to hide the discussion, I did it befor but currently not. I guess it was able with discussion view extension but there is no feature like this at the moment.

With vanilla Flarum if you make a tag invisible to regular users, even discussion authors will stop seeing the discussion so they will never see a tag was added.

clarkwinkelmann I don't want to hide tag. I would like to hide only one discussion or show it to selected group. I dont want to touch any relation with tags. It will appears like soft deleted when I hide it.

fakruzaruret why not use a tag though? That would be the ideal solution. Particularly if you want to control access to the hidden discussion with groups.

clarkwinkelmann Yes I can do by configure tag permissions. I would like to publish discussion as private under the Health category (Health category is open to everyone). Can I select user group or only selected user to show? These groups or persons will be different in future so editing tags limits me. I would like to configure it without going to admin panel and configure tag options.

fakruzaruret I can set it with Byobu extension but it is not appear when I publish it. I can use editing receiver list option when I hide discussion with shadow ban. Why I cant change it without using shadow ban. Earlier I was using and shadow ban extension was not published yet.

A previous version of Byobu allowed to create private discussions in arbitrary tags. This is no longer possible in the more recent releases, where private discussions are automatically tag-less and displayed in their own area. The ability to tag private discussions was removed due to the complexity of maintaining the feature.

The recipient editor appearing might be an implementation bug in Byobu. Shadow Hidden discussions count as private discussions in the Flarum API (just like discussions awaiting approval), I assume Byobu forgets to check whether it's a Byobu discussion and just checks whether it's private.

clarkwinkelmann thank you. May be there is an error on Byobu side. But still I think flarum need to more discussion privasy options. I hope this feature will come to Flarum.
