www redirects to homepage?

So I've done a fresh install of flarum and installed the Canonical URL extension, the problem that I am having is when i try to access my forum which is in a sub directory btw. I get redirected to my homepage.

I want the url to be without www but how do i force users who will try to access through www.mywebsite.com/forum
to go to my forum subdirectory and not www.mywebsite.com

My migratetoflarum/canonical extension does not support subfolder installations:

clarkwinkelmann Third note: this extension does not work with Flarum installs in subfolders.

You will have to use an Apache/nginx rewrite rule instead.
