Has anyone tried RoadRunner with Flarum?

I'm not sure if it's the right tag, but as the title says that I was wondering if anyone has tried RoadRunner, especially if it's technically possible, RoadRunner interacts with long-lived php processes, unlike php-fpm which creates and kills them on every request, that's why I was wondering first of all if Flarum could work correctly with this concept, does the Flarum code take into account that the PHP process will die after the request?

The Flarum founders built the software in a way that would be suitable to run on those types of servers. However, there are still a few areas in the software that still need improvements before that can be possible or green-lighted.

The Roadrunner code is actually PSR compliant. I'd be interested to see what happens 😃

I do think there will be complications, especially with code that use static setters or container bindings per request.

Understand that these questions rise every now and again, and each time it's another new tech 😛

luceos Interesting, I'm sure there are some things that are not quite ready, maybe I'll get around to testing and sharing my findings...

I've been taking a look and damn honestly these technologies are tremendously promising for PHP as a language, some benchmarks are completely absurd especially the Swoole/OpenSwoole ones, I'm a bit shocked I didn't imagine PHP had such a room for improvement 🤯

I tested using RoadRunner to speed up Flarum. According to the instructions on puper/flarum-ext-roadrunner, it should run directly without issues. However, there is a risk that some extensions use static variables that are not cleaned up. For example, the SEO extension maintains a static::$container, which can only be cleared through a hack method.
