I don't want to sound like an attorney for meihuak and I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding but I think it can easily lead to losing his trust.
He reported that posts that are held for approval don't trigger notifications upon approval. He was suggested to open a bounty and that's what he did and he paid $70. I'm not sure if that's a lot or not but I would say it's a fair amount. The bounty was accepted and the fix was promised, however it turned out that only half of the issue was fixed: only those subscribed for the discussion are now notified, but people that get mentioned in an approved post still won't get notification.
Now, @SychO explained that these are separate technical areas and other technical explanations but from my point of view (not being a side in this situation, just an observer) meihuak is just a user asking for "notifications upon approval", apparently he asked for all of the notifications to be fixed.
SychO also promised that this will nevertheless be fixed in the forthcoming 1.7 release, however I don't see the GitHub issue being selected for the 1.7 milestone:
flarum/framework3687
I know this is not intentional and is certainly due to Flarum being understaffed and an open-source project and I really appreciate everything you devs do for Flarum. Really! It's fantastic and the project is top-notch.
But I see great potential for this issue to be missed also for 1.7 as a result of the non-centralized nature of open-source projects. That will certainly lead to you losing meihuak's trust, who did everything he was being advised to do to have this issue solved.
I was not asked to write this post 🙂 I don't even know him. I just happened to notice this entire misunderstanding and wanted to turn your attention to it before it becomes a sour feeling for one or more people, neither of whom may have meant causing troubles.
