The issue
We have been experiencing increasing amounts of spam posted by people who are not our users. They all seem to originate from the same source since the texts have the same style. It seems like someone or some organization is creating fake accounts, and then posts rather elaborate articles about business, finance, IT, etc., that have nothing to do with our own business (our forum is strictly for customer support related to our software). From the time these posts arrive I am guessing that they originate from Asia.
The only way we found to block this is to require a moderator to filter all posts arriving on our forum and approve or disprove them. However, lately, the amount of spam messages arriving has increased to around 20 per day, which is becoming less and less manageable. Indeed, each spam message is associated to a different new fake account, which means that in addition to deleting posts we have to ban one user per message.
Does anybody (and in particular Flarum support) know of any better way to eliminate this problem?
I am attaching some samples of typical spam that we are getting.
