GreXXL under data protection laws in the U.K and E.U, people have the ‘right to be forgotten’. And this means if a user asks for all their posts to be deleted, a webmaster is obligated to grant such request. If a webmaster says no, it may bring up legal implications.
- It’s better to have an option where an admin can choose if you want that users posts to be deleted or just their account.
Hence it’s important to make allowances for this. Simple machines forum have this option for this reason.
Whilst yes, deleting a users post will bring some posts ‘out of context’, it’s not worth the legal hassle of keeping them.
