Dev Server

Hello,
today I wanted to evaluate Flarum as I mostly do web stuff with Laravel and I heard that Flarum is based on it. Cool! So after fiddling around some hours I was still unable to make it run locally.
It would be really cool to just have a dev server like Laravel has (php artisan serve). I don’t want to setup a server locally or run it in Docker. 🙁

Something like php -S localhost:8000 -t public/ should work. Usually you don't need anything special to run PHP app using build-in web server.

Valet also works, Flarum uses a similar approach with serving files from the public directory.. There used to be a feature parity thing based on artisan serve for Flarum, but that's quite a while ago: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/6373-flagrow-serve-start-flarum-in-the-php-development-server
