Burial0268 Sorry for the delay, I couldn't reply either. Before that, I would like to ask: have you installed flarum and how did you install it?
James120 Yes. I have installed. Through the www.home.pl autoinstaller - here I have a server with FTP access.
James120 Here it was possible to install it by the automatic installer from the www.home.pl customer panel
James120 Yes, FTP only. It is the best provider of such services in our country. Many large companies use it. There is file access via FTP and of course database access.
Burial0268 Then may not be able to install plugin, flarum requires installation via ssh(A tool for remote command execution)
James120 I want to add a link to an installed forum but I can't add a post with a link. Maybe human-history.pl
Burial0268 As things currently stand, it's almost impossible to install plugins without using ssh directly Although you can deploy yourself locally, install plugins, and upload, but for you, "this is black magic" So, maybe you can just use IPB back
James120 Can't I just download the extension file and paste it on the server? This is the case with virtually all scripts - phpbb and others.
Burial0268 James120 No, this is because of the extension mechanism and working method of flarum: After installing flarum, an autoload file will be generated. When you run the plugin installation command, composer will update the autoload file to load the plugin. If you copy it directly, the original generated autoload will be updated and the plugin will not be loaded. (I've tried my best to simplify the mechanics)
luceos James120 I can imagine the learning curve is a little steep. Have you looked at https://freeflarum.com? A community project where you can run your Flarum forum without the hassle of hosting.
luceos As a new user your posts were automatically marked for moderative approval. I just checked the whole discussion and approved the posts that made still sense after your many attempts.
