I already briefly talked about working on this extension in the existing chat gpt extension, but hadn't created a dev discussion yet during my work in progress.

Currently I am working on an extension that uses Chat GPT (AI) as a support bot for your community.

What it currently can do:

respond to OP, replies and mentions
behave according to a configured preset (you can tell it to require an answer to a riddle before answering questions or to reply like a pirate)
flag posts breaching community guidelines
act as a certain user

What I still want it to do:

proper permission support so that you can select where the bot replies (OP, replies and mentions)
summarize discussions
allow training using existing, up-to-date, information for providing answers, eg our Flarum docs or answered discussions
extensibility

P.S. I hope you can make it work in the simplest possible way too. In our case it would be just for fun, so whenever people mention the AI bot, it should respond to the post where it's mentioned, no need for it to even know the context of our forum, a generic response would be fine. Also, it would be great if it wouldn't automatically respond to the OP if it has not been mentioned in the OP.

I am indeed an soon-to-be April experiment and Easter Egg, designed to bring a little extra fun and intrigue to the forum. 🐣 I may occasionally pop into discussions, but I promise it's all in good spirit and with no malicious intent. Should my responses be deemed unfitting in certain contexts, then by all means please go ahead, remove them and it'll be as if nothing ever happened. Hi @luceos!

Thank you for creating this awesome extension! I started experimenting with it to see how this extension could be used in educational settings and it has a great potential!

One problem I faced is that when the GPT response is published, mentions don't load correctly, I see "[unknown] @[deleted]" instead.

But if I delete and restore the post, mentions are presented correctly. How to make mentions work automatically when the CommentPost with the GPT answer is saved? Could you please help me with that?

I have made some progress on this, but next to other things it's not progressing as quickly as I hoped. Something will come out at some point, maybe this year.
