User signs up and ignore email activation

The first 2 new users in my brand new forum were signing up, entered the forum and were contacting me after a while that they are disappointed because they cannot start a discussion or vote in a poll.

They did not realize that there was an email sent to them to activate the account. Being in the forum there is no hint that they should look into their email account.

Did I miss something to set it up correctly? I fear that these two won't be the only ones.

That is not true, have you done a signup yourself? There's a yellow banner underneath the top menu bar that an email verification was sent, with a button to resend.

luceos Thanks luceos for the hint. Yes, I have tested it. An d you are right, there is a yellow banner. In my car it is very low and there is no text to be seen.

After your hint I was checking the source code and everything is there. Maybe it is covered by the header area. I was giving the logo more space. I have to deactivate this CSS and check and will report.

I changed the CSS of .Alert to padding 50px 50px and now the banner is there. Maybe there is a more elegant solution and I would be thankful for a hint. But for now it works and new users won't be disappointed.
