Moving to primary domain

The issue

Hi there, using version 1.7.1

I had set up my site at https://forums.tellytips.com and decided to move it to my main domain at https://tellytips.com

I just moved over the files and updated the url of the config file.

It seems to be working fine mostly but when a user tries to sign up, it just shows a loading wheel and no account is created.

Any ideas how to fix this? The mail settings are smtp and the email is sending successfully during admin panel test.

chrisc297 check the browser console and the Flarum log file https://docs.flarum.org/troubleshoot

If you haven't already, clear the Flarum cache from the admin panel or the command line.

Is this the only action that causes an error? No issues during login, discussion creation or reply?

I’ve tried the recommendations on that page. Checked the log and no errors recorded. Everything else works, it’s just the sign up process that isn’t working.

I had fof recaptcha enabled with no keys so i disabled this and now when I try sign up, it says: oops something went wrong! Try reloading.

So I removed fof recaptcha as it wouldn’t let me purge it, and it’s still the same.

I’ve checked the extensions I have installed but I’m not sure which, if any, are affecting it.

After all of that… I disabled the plug-in Anti-Spam - Spam protection for forum.archlinux.de and the sign up now works.

After several tests, to the point where I reinstalled flarum... changing it from SMTP to mail has resolved issues.

Even though the test worked for SMTP.

chrisc297 is this a new vm or something? Many providers block the default outgoing mail ports to prevent spam. You can usually ask to be unblocked or use an alternative port.

luceos yes probably a provider issue, I probably reacted too quickly with reinstalling. It’s working fine on the mail setting now though.
