A friend and I are in the process of trying to build a new community, and one of our core concepts for this new group is that we should bring the discussion to the people instead of the other way around. I have been scouring the web trying to find ways to synchronize Facebook posts and comments with forum threads, and vice versa, but I haven't been able to find anything (with one exception that, while it may be legit, looks somewhat sketchy) that meets my needs.
I absolutely love the simple, clean look of Flarum, and since it already supports Facebook authentication, I was wondering if it's possible to embed Flarum in a Facebook app and have it share a database with a sister copy on our website. That way, users can participate in the discussion on either our site or Facebook, wherever they are.
I am an experienced developer, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty. But I don't want to reinvent the wheel (especially considering the fact that our whole idea focuses on using existing tools to make lives easier). I haven't made a Facebook app before, so I thought I would check here before going down a path which may be a rabbit hole with no useful conclusion.
Thanks in advance!
