Import Users from CSV Extension

Looking to possibly commission an extension being built to allow for this. Not sure what the cost would be or if someone is willing to do for free. Any takers, let me know.

Not sure what all Flarum requires, but just from looking at the new feature to create individual user accounts from the admin side I would need to be able to do at least the following:

Username (auto generated from first part of email address when CSV is imported)
Email address
Password (randomly generated on CSV import)
Account Creation date (either generated from CSV or auto generated for current date on CSV import)

Perhaps someone with better understanding of what Flarum requires and is capable of can chime in to clarify what's required vs what I'm asking for. @luceos @clarkwinkelmann

I will leave up to dev on whether its a public release or not, but would personally prefer public so others can use it as well.

The importing itself is not an issue. Especially considering maatwebsite having a package for this.

The question is how mapping columns would work. Building a full fledged ux to allow selecting what column maps with what and possibly how it should be transformed is very expensive.

Defining an expected format reduces the ease of use.

If you for you want a simple importer as a low cost solution, then make it based on your format. One can still open source it so that it can be forked and adapted for other use cases.

What would you suggest just for basic import. I’ve got about 300 members I would like to import vs manually creating each one.

Also when say expensive for UI and column mapping, what would that be roughly in US dollars?

I can do some coding but haven’t even touch much with flarum, only Wordpress.

luceos I have the same issue. Existing forum with over 550+ members. I am looking for a way to do basic import of existing users (email + name), that's all. Nothing special, but as newbie to flarum I would appreciate some step-by-step OR link to existing solution/docs.
