Is the Flarum SEO extension still needed with 1.8.1 version?

I would like to know if the SEO extension is still needed when upgrading to the latest Flarum version please.

What will it add to the Flarum that makes it more SEO friendly please?

SEO is an area of knowledge that requires constant improvement and research. Creating and shipping a first party extension will imply we invest this time and will likely deter others from writing alternatives, alternatives that might even be better. As such, I doubt SEO will be part of core anytime soon.

Do you mean that Flarum as it is, is not SEO friendly?
I have noticed that I really struggle on Google vs wordpress when using your blog feature.

Blog is not a 1st party extension, it is a community extension.

That is not what I said. I think Flarum scores pretty okay with SEO, but there are extensions that try to use all the tricks in the book to score even better. The Flarum team is currently not capable to invest time into building and maintaining an extension that scores well in SEO. The SEO extension seems to be doing rather good from what I've heard.

luceos I understand now.

Seo wise, compared to Wordpress, it is not doing well. For example, in Wordpress when you write a post you can auto ping a huge amount of sites at once. Or can get SEO scores per page and other very important gadgets that helps you rank much higher.
