I started a small VPS with Debian 12 and 1GB memory. Installed a website and Flarum forum on this small VPS. Without any heavy traffic this seems to be possible. I do not expect heavy traffic, so it is good for now.
Three positive things and one suggestion.
Speed very good on desktop according to https://pagespeed.web.dev
Relative small memory footprint on the VPS according to Webmin
On this VPS I host 1 web site and 1 Flarum forum. This may be possible because I use Go as a web server that takes very little resources compared to PHP and Wordpress.
Very good support. This forum is both friendly and helpful
The suggestion. Flarum forum consists of many moving parts. The installation guide is not reflecting all this moving parts and is somewhat outdated. The installation and migration should IMO be way simpler and straightforward in order to increase the community.
