I'm moderator in another software community, that community has a function in the profile notification settings that allow user to be informed if a message is edited.
With a dropdown menu at the option "When a post is edited in a topic you are watching" you can choose to be notified by email, web notification or both.
This is very useful for admin and mods that maybe moderate a user message and need get alert in the case the message is edited again.
It's also useful if a user write a first reply wrong then edit the message!
Today an user was replying to a support topic but for error they just mention me without any text.
Thanks to this settings that alert if a message is edited, once I read just the wrong message with the mention, I get alerted by a notification when the post has been edited so fixed. This allowed me to not loose the user reply.
An extension that help on this will be nice, more nice if this can be implemented in the core.
- Add option to be notified by email, web or both notification "When a post is edited in a topic you are watching" you can choose to be notified by email, web notification or both.
- Another interesting function would be have the possibility to lock / unlock to the user the ability to edit a message edited from an admin or mod or put it in the moderation queue if user edit it... but Flarum doesn't keep editing history so will be hard for the moderator see what happen.
