Greetings Flarum family!
I have been lurking these forums for years along with the FluxBB forums to see where things are heading and what would transpire over said time because I was always dragging my feet about using SMF, MyBB or ElKarte for future projects. By the way, I'm here because I knew @Franz was part of the core team and I truly respect what he did with FluxBB which is legendary.

As time went on, I was pleasantly impressed with the vision of Flarum -- especially the rapid progress that has been made over the years of hard determined work by all of its developers and contributors. No doubt you guys have sacrificed a lot of your precious time in order to create this "new baby".

So, I give big props to ya'll! You guys are amazing. Actually, you inspire me big time based on the quality of the finished product.

As a long time lurker, I also want to commend @luceos for his steadfast leadership in keeping this Flarum ship afloat with his selfless dedication to this project after @Toby left and Franz went to start a family. The dude is like an octopus. In fact, all open source projects would be so fortunate to have a Luceos on their team.

Anyhow, this needed to be said since I don't usually comment on a majority of open source projects that I use. That means I'll also have to register on Linux Mint's forum and give my praise to Clem and the team for their brilliant work.

BricsTech thank you a lot for your kind and humbling words. I don't know whether your post is what sparks the most joy or the fact we made a long-time lurker speak up about the work we've done all this time, I guess it's both 😊

Every open source contributor should get praise like this, because every hour sacrificed is time they could have spent for their own ambitions.

Thank you BricsTech, because appreciation like this is a huge boost to our motivation and thank you foss contributors I ha(ve/d) the privilege of working with, because without you Flarum and the world would have never been in the place it is now.

luceos You are most welcome Luceos! I'm a big believer in Flarum. It is such a versatile product. It's all up to your imagination on how you want to use it: Knowledgebase, Customer Service/Support, Private Social Network, Education (How To, etc.), Business Directory, Events bulletin, Community Forums, Intranets, local Government/Church message boards, etc. etc....

As such, I will be looking to implement Flarum in various endeavours. I am part of numerous expat diaspora community Whatsapp groups but I often miss a lot of posts or am unable to download numerous attachments after the damn posts have expired due to the group's settings.

We also have a lot of expat group users posting products and services they're selling in Africa or throughout the diaspora, and it's just so damn unorganized because they keep reposting the same ads or events every few days or weeks. So I feel Flarum is going to really come in handy by creating an Expats Business Directory. I just need to get my tagging (categories) heirachy correct from the start.

A big bonus is that I'm starting to see Flarum show up in the Softaculous installer on shared web hosting plans which was not there a year or 2 ago. So this is big news because a lot of my SMB/SME customers use shared hosting plans. ;-)
