Certain notification types can not be toggled for emails

Hi,

I noticed that in my account settings, some settings can not be toggled to send an email notification.

Here is what I mean:

(The email button is disabled for the following notification types):
- "Someone renames a discussion I started"
- "Someone stickies a discussion I started"
- "Someone likes my post"

Is this intended behavior? If it is, it doesn't make much sense.

Everyone already knows if this. It's been like that for a while, I don't think Toby and them have pushed any updates to the demo forum so I guaranteed it's like this right now for a legitimate reason. Also why would you want to know when someone stickies your topic via email or rename/like your post.

That's basically in my opinion spam mail (even if it's from the forum) not worth checking since when you log in you'll end up clearing your notifications manually anyways.

Yeah, I disabled email notifications for these things because I thought that no one would realistically ever want/need to be emailed about them. It wouldn't be hard to enable them – but it would be extra work for translators, work that I'm not sure is worth it.

Toby There might even be a few people out there who want to get a mail anytime someone gives them a Like, but I think this approach is best. The items for which you've disabled email notifications are things that the user doesn't really need to do anything about. Whereas it makes sense to provide email notifications for the other items (replies, mentions, and posts in followed threads), which may need a quick response.

Dominion what if i want to get email everytime someone replies to post . i enabled it but its from settings still not working.

This is an eleven-month-old discussion about the fact that people can't receive email notifications when discussions are renamed or stickied, or when someone likes a post. It's not the best place to ask for help with a different issue.

I'll lock this discussion, since there doesn't seem to be much else that can be said about the original topic.
