ahmed26 make sure there is nothing in the folder in which you are installing Flarum (even invisible files)
Make sure your shell user has permission to create files in that folder.
If this still doesn't help, you could try again with the same command but removing the dot at the end. This will cause a new folder called flarum to be created in the current folder. You can then move/rename that folder to the correct location.
