Currently Askismet extension has an option to automatically delete blatant spam. It would be useful to add an option to automatically ban blatant spammers. However, as a fully automatic system, it can sometimes make mistakes and ban innocent users. Therefore, there is also a need for a setting that excludes users who have a given minimum number of posts on the forum, etc.
I might handle the PR for this someday, but I need more information on ideas for excluding innocent users.
