Apply a Primary Tag where a Secondary Tag Exists?

Hello,

After converting and playing about, I have created a primary tag. However, all my previous discussions are under secondary tags. Is there a simple way to apply a primary tag to all of the secondary tags? I don't want to nestle the secondary tags under the primary tag because these are then used elsewhere on the forum.

Happy to do run a SQL if thats what needed

If you have multiple hundreds of discussions, using SQL might be the most efficient.

However for a quick solution with not too many discussion you might be able to use the Mass Actions extension. Select the tag in the sidebar or use the tag: search gambit to return the discussions you want to modify, click "load more" until all your discussions are visible. Then select all and click edit tag in the controls added by Mass Actions.

clarkwinkelmann Thanks. The forum is quite huge so SQL it will be. In the discussion tags table, long as the time matches, I just need the postID to have the various different tags?

Yes you should be able to just manipulate entries in the discussion_tag table. There are foreign keys constraints so you cannot use invalid IDs anyway. I don't remember if there's a date column but its value wouldn't be super important, Flarum doesn't really use it natively. But if there's any date, setting it to the current time or the discussion create time should be fine.
