Signup form fails to create account.

The issue

The signup form just spins and never gives a result to the user who attempts to create an account on https://lepointdarret.com/public/. Could not find any clues in the logs as to why it is not working. Got new users until Jan 23rd. Have not changed anything since, but cannot get signup to work (tried on different browsers).

blueCamel please check for error messages in the log file https://docs.flarum.org/troubleshoot

There's a good chance it will be related to the email server.

You should also fix your URL to remove public, as this likely means you are exposing sensitive files https://docs.flarum.org/install#customizing-paths

I used softaculous to replicate the install on test2.lepointdarret.com

The dialog fails in the same manner if I attempt to create an account for an existing email or with a password that is below the required length. With a working install, this returns an error without having the system send an email. That is why I doubt the email server is involved. The system seems to have no issues to send other emails.

Also, I tried removing clarkwinkelmann/flarum-ext-group-invitation doing both purge and remove with composer, but the sign up customization this plugin brings to the form sticks no matter what.

When I set config.php debug to true, I'm not getting a debug message from the error. I cannot find anything in the logs as previously mentioned. Reloading the page prevents the page from loading unless I set debug back to false.

I honestly do not know what to do next to fix this. This got first reported to me over a week ago, and I'm still where I was on day 1.

blueCamel I think litespeed is having issues, the response generated after the extremely long time out is from litespeed itself. Can you confirm that it has been configured properly? In addition do check storage/logs for any flarum error logs and post the latest ones here.

The only thing that hits my logs are things from an hourly schedule involving datitisev/flarum-backup.

With regards to litespeed, I honestly do not know. This is a shared host and all I see in my cPanel with regards to litespeed is the "LiteSpeed Web Cache Manager" plugin, and its screens are not very helpful.

What do you see that involves litespeed? Can you share that with me @luceos ? What should I tell my service provider that could point them in the right direction?

On a side note (I have no clue if that is related or not), when I turned debug on, I could get the following details from the mercury plugin admin screen:

So it is difficult for me to understand how cache is involved in this problem.

blueCamel hm that is a good one. Perhaps it is related to a specific extension then. I assumed something in litespeed threw an error as I am not really familiar with the software, but it might be that litespeed just caught the error on behalf of php. Still, litespeed would need to log the 500 internal server error somewhere when you hit the signup submit. Can you try to find these hosting plan logs or ask your provider where they are. Telling them your application ran into a 500 internal server error should be enough for them to work with.
