bug in pdf default file download template fof - fof upload

I've been using flarum for quiet some time and was possible to visualize and download a pdf file in a default template, using fof upload.
but now, I can only use url or default image download template... I've seen uploads arent working here at flarum community as wel...

is anyone having the same trouble?

isaamnz that feature has never existed.

However, based on previous discussions about this, I believe there were browsers that accepted a PDF as the source of an image tag, which is not an official HTML feature. The fact it worked in the first place was non-standard and limited to specific browsers.

PDF preview has not been implemented in FoF Upload at this time.

The Flarum Discuss site does not use FoF Upload.

found an old print screen before this bug, the uploaded files was shown like this when in default file template:

and now, default file download template does not work... so I'm using default file image template... and is like this:

I would like to go back to the first template, but when I selected the option in fof upload configs, it shows only a white square:

isaamnz there might be a conflict with another extension. Can you check the browser JavaScript console for errors, or share a link to a public page where we can see the problem ?

clarkwinkelmann problem solved!

FOF Upload extension had an error, generated by conflict with the headerslideshow extension. so we restarted FOF Upload and deactivate headerslidshow and is all working now...

isaamnz I visited the link but I'm not seeing any error right now. The preview shows up using the image template, similar to your first screenshot. I don't see the small dot like your in your second screenshot. Did you change the settings again? Changing the settings shouldn't change existing links though. I tested in Firefox and Chrome.

For testing, you could also create a single post with the same file being embedded with the 2 different templates by modifying the bbcode around the link. This would show whether the rendering for both templates works or not.

The bbcode syntaxes are [upl-image-preview url={URL}] and [upl-file uuid={IDENTIFIER} size={SIMPLETEXT2}]{SIMPLETEXT1}[/upl-file], so you might need to look in the database to get the identifier or URL depending on which you insert first. SIMPLETEXT2 and SIMPLETEXT1 can be pretty much anything, maybe even empty strings. I believe SIMPLETEXT1 is a customizable legend. Or perhaps you can upload the files 2 times and change the admin setting in-between. This should work without requireing a page refresh.
