I am reaching out to express my appreciation for the robust email notification system that Flarum offers. It's a fantastic feature that significantly enhances user engagement and keeps the community connected.
However, I've noticed a couple of issues that could potentially be addressed to improve the experience. The current system allows regular users to opt-in for email notifications for every interaction. While this is great for engagement, it can lead to two main concerns:
Resource Consumption: Sending an email for every interaction can be quite resource-intensive, especially for active communities with frequent user interactions.
User Experience: Some users may not be aware of how to disable these notifications and could become overwhelmed by the continuous influx of emails, which might lead to a negative perception of the community.
To mitigate these issues, I propose the introduction of a feature that consolidates notifications into a daily or weekly digest. This would allow users to stay informed about community interactions without the constant stream of individual emails. It would also be more resource-efficient and could potentially enhance the user experience by providing a summarized view of relevant activities.
I believe that a digest email feature would be a valuable addition to Flarum's suite of tools, offering users more control over their notification preferences and contributing to a cleaner, more streamlined communication channel.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. I am looking forward to any thoughts you might have on this feature request.
