Hello folks,

i am getting following error when i open my Website running Flarum Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.2.0".

When i check my PHP version its 8.3.4 so this cant be the problem

Korra this usually happens when you use composer on the command line with a different php version than the php version the website runs as.

Korra I've contacted my web host, which is the best way to deal with this kind of problem. You need to change the version of php-cli. Depending on the host, this can be done using the cron command. For one of mine, all I had to do was change php php flarum to /opt/php82/bin/php flarum.
⚠️ It depends on your host! For others, you'll need to use SSH and indicate the php version to use in the .profile file.

I have the same problem Your composer dependencies require aPHP version ">= 8.2.0". You are running 8.1.29. in ... is there a simple way to change the composer php version ?

Amarok saw your question from mobile and forgot about replying. But the bottomline is that the php version used to run composer commands need to be identical to the php version the website runs as.

rob006 I had the problem using a cron job, and I was able to solve the problem in another way, which I think is simpler than touching the flarum files themselves

Amarok I meant composer.json in your forum root (it is based on this one: flarum/flarumblob/master/composer.json) - this is actually your file and it is edited every time you install new extension, so it should be safe to adjust it. Defining PHP version in this way is a standard way to ensure correct PHP version is used for resolving dependencies if you have dev/stage environment and you generate lock file on different environment than production server.

But it indeed make sense to run cron and webserver on the same PHP version, so keeping them in sync is probably a better solution.
