Social features in Flarum

in the age of Facebook and Twitter, it is hard for discussion boards to stay afloat without social features. The FB like notifications were a big game changer in forums. There are scripts that provide many social features and profile based improvements like cover photo for profile and the same. Let us use this thread to suggest and discuss social features in Flarum.

Such features are most likely -- at least for the forseeable future -- to be added as third-party extensions (such as Davis Social Profile and Share Social), so I"m not sure this is a matter that can be discussed in generalized terms.
