Horatis If you have the Subscriptions extension enabled, you can click the arrow next to the Follow button inside a discussion page, and select Ignore. This will remove the discussion from your All Discussions list, although it will still show up on the individual tag pages.
There is no extension yet to alert to a new thread, but you can try this RSS trick in the meantime.
