😄No clue if this would even work here, but what about sequestering the user in a purgatorial group...?
This idea is something I trialed early last year (@XF though), and I can't see why a similar concept wouldn't work with what we've got already.
As a basic example:
•Create a [Purgatory-Tag]
•And a [Sequestered-UserGroup]
•Setting User Permissions for the [Sequestered-UserGroup] to maximum cripple mode in all Tags...
•Except the [Purgatory Tag] wherein which the [Sequestered-UserGroup] could have maybe viewing permissions, but that's all.
•Then go create a single discussion thread with 1 single post where you could plaster an inspirational quote, or the forum guidelines, or whatever.
•Could get way more creative too.
By around February last year we'd basically created a sort of forum colosseum where we'd turf any lucky trollers we caught misbehaving.
This was for their own good of course, it was a "Safe Space"...😂where the trolles had to battle it out with each other for the communities amusement.
