Confirmation emails not sending

For some reason Flarum doesn't send confirmation emails. I've tried with windowslive(outlook) and gmail, but still won't send me confirmation mail. Any ideas how i can fix this?

I am using the latest version of Flarum 0.1.0-beta.5.

Have you set up the SMTP information in the database? Either manually or by way of the SMTP configuration extension?

Hi, I’m new to this forum, but I have the same problem so I didn’t know if I should open a new thread or not.

I’m using Flarum 0.1.0-beta.6 on a VPS and my email provider is a custom mailbox on OVH. When signing up, I get the message

Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again.

No email is actually sent.
However the user is created and can be activated manually from the db table "users". I can even log in with the user. If I do so, I get a thin banner stating that a confirmation email has been sent and I can send it again. When trying that, I get again :

Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again.

Still no email, not even in the spam.
I tested my smtp settings with Swaks (http://www.jetmore.org/john/code/swaks/latest/doc/ref.txt) and I could perfectly send messages. With the exact same parameters, it does not work on Flarum.
Here is my config:

swaks --to test@mydomain.ovh --server ssl0.ovh.net --auth-user postmaster@mydomain.ovh -p 587 --from noreply@mydomain.ovh

Can anyone help me at least give me a direction to debug that ?

Update : I noticed there was a mistake in my configuration, the sender address used the ip address and not the site domain. Now it properly works.
So you can ignore my reply ?
