Greetings,
First of all, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who puts in the effort to create extensions for Flarum.
In my opinion, Flarum has a lot of potential. However, I must be honest: for a "beginner" with only basic coding knowledge or someone relying on AI (like myself), it’s quite challenging to make something truly useful. One of the main difficulties is customizing the design. Even something as seemingly simple as changing the forum's colors can feel like a daunting task. I struggle to locate the necessary codes, like the color adjustments I just mentioned. I can't seem to find them in any configuration files or directories via FTP.
Many extensions also feel only partially accessible for beginners. For example, I find it confusing that some extensions, such as CustomHeader, don't offer built-in options to adjust things like image size directly within the extension itself. This makes everything more complicated, forcing me to search for the code to make those changes — which I often can't find either.
I believe certain features could be designed with beginners in mind, making it easier for those without advanced coding skills to navigate and work with Flarum.
I have the utmost respect for those who create these extensions, and I'm truly grateful that most of them are offered for free.
It would be incredibly helpful if each extension included at least a README file or some form of documentation that clearly explains how to customize different aspects. This would make it much easier for beginners like me to locate the necessary files and make adjustments, whether it's for a theme or an extension.
As I mentioned earlier, I think Flarum is fantastic, and I'm grateful to everyone who dedicates their time and expertise to developing these extensions. You all are amazing!
