Embed GPX Maps with GPX Preview

I wrote this plugin several years ago for my Adventure Motorcycle riding site on the beta and finally gave it some attention to get it running on latest.

Supports Flarum 1.8.x and FOF Uploads 1.5.5

Users upload a GPX file and will get an interactive Google Map they can scroll and zoom. GPX can be downloaded.

Admin MIME configuration

Install & Configure

composer require webbinaro/gpx-preview:'*'
Visit the GPX Preview add-on in Admin interface
a. Enable it
b. Provide a GOogle Maps API Key
Visit the FOF Upload and add a MIME type of application\/*.xml to map to the new "GPX Route Preview" option (see image above)

Upgrade Notice

Those upgrading from prior version (to 2.0.5) will notice old uploads no longer show map, but the fix is easy!

Previously add-on used overloaded [upl-file ..][/upl-file] BBCODE. The new version uses a add-on specific BBcode of [upl-gpx ..][/upl-gpx]. The datapoints are all the same though, so you can manually edit existing posts, or use a SQL update query to replace the defunct tags. be sure to backup first
