Is it viable to install flarum with Softaculous from Cpanel?

Hello, it's my first time here, I've followed SychO since smf and I've been fascinated with flarum and I want it for my next project, so I have some questions, I hope this is the right place to ask.

1.- Is it correct that I install Flarum from Softaculous? I'm trying the demo from cpanel and what worries me most is how I could install the extensions. I see that it is with commands from composer, but is it possible? Or would there be problems in the future?

2.- Regarding the Flarum blog, will improvements be added in the future? For example, more tools for writing as a blogger with functions to align text, color words, etc, or will it remain that way permanently?

At the moment I have these doubts, I hope you can understand me, since I use Google Translator.

If softaculous comes with the extension manager installed, you can use it. However, to be on the safe side, it's always better to have SSH/terminal access in case something really goes wrong. I'm not sure whether CPanel offers this though.

I believe that the Blog extension re-uses the native Flarum editor; you can enrich it with fof/formatting and other extensions.

@luceos Hello, thank you for responding, yes I was looking at the cpanel of the host I have contracted and it has an installer for different CMS with Softaculous.

Looking at your answer, I see that it is possible, but you recommend using the terminal. So if I decided to use Softaculous, could I still install extensions? or should I necessarily use the terminal for the extensions?

I installed and ran Flarum successfully for six months or more on a super cheap, light-resource shared hosting environment. Softaculous installed Flarum and the database with a click. I asked the webhost to open SSH/Terminal access within cPanel and they did. That allowed me to install Composer. Using a good FTP program was also helpful at times to edit config.php manually before I learned to use the terminal and nano text editor.

Now, the built-in Extension Manager of Flarum makes it even easier, once Flarum is initially installed.

Flarum has official ZIP download, with the extension manager included out of the box. This is the most reliable installation option when SSH is not available.
