VirtualBox VM setup

Installation instruction simply say "install Vagrant and VirtualBox"...
vagrant up gets me "no usable default provider"
so.. I need to create a virtual machine in virtualbox....
but what type? Windows? Linux? Other?

Any other settings or steps I need to know?
Any "images" I need to download

bradkent, instead of breaking your mind with it you can just wait for 1-2 weeks until Flarum is released. It will be up to date and you'll be able to use it without VMs.

alexfox I've been tasked with finding a good forum solution for our website. Flarum looks very promising and I'd like to get my feet wet.

Thread drift: just how hard would it be to integrate authentication with my website's authentication/avatars?
I don't want users to have to re login or re setup avatar/profile

bradkent The github repo isn't even up to date anyways so you're better off waiting 1 - 2 weeks and finding out that way on a localhost.

bradkent Don't forget that what we'll release will still be a beta version. You'll have plenty of time to try everything out before you should use it in production.
