Using display names

Hi there,
I can see in the user list (in the "users" section of the admin page) that there is a separate username and display name (where the display name defaults to the username).

Is there a way to set and display the display name? I would like to enable my users to set and use real names in my forum, and the display name seems the right field to do so. But I cannot find out how to use it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Enable the nicknames extension, then go to the basics page of the admin section, and choose nicknames as the display name driver.

While the extension is called nicknames, it can be used for real names.
