If you only want to change a text in the UI but not how a feature works, you can use the FriendsOfFlarum Linguist extension.

Capp Converting a public discussion into a private one is a rather unusual use case. Can you give me some user stories where this would be needed? Also, which private messages are you referring to?

fof/byobu supports converting a private discussion into a public one, but AFAIK not the other way around.

davetodave178 hi dave it is a point where someone made a post with a request and I wish to continue discussing the matter in a PM without having to make an entirely new PM or post I use both extensions
fof/byobu and the extension titled private messages and none of them allow a PC to become a PM which is what I need
