Decouple frontend from backend, couple of new compatible backend

Hi! I recently came across this awesome forum framework. I'm thinking of implementing an experimental project which would involve reusing the Flarum's frontend but coupling it to a newly written backend.

Is this easily doable? What repos should I be cloning? What difficulties will I encounter?

Diasparo even though Flarum's frontend and backend are great, and especially great together, Flarum's superpower is its extensibility. You'll miss all that building your own implementation.
