This is my honest review of the Flarum software.
I manage servers and networks for my company, along with being the main director, and I am not all that great with the coding side of things, I'm not totally useless, but Stack Overflow is still first in my favourites tab..
I discovered Flarum quite a few years ago, when I was looking for a community platform to talk about tech, and I discovered tribe.so (now known as Bettermode), which is a great platform, but if you're like me, you HATE subscription services, and so I found FreeFlarum. Now, the big issue with FreeFlarum was the footer, so instead of donating I decided to pull out my old Optiplex 360, installed Debian and got a Flarum instance running, this is how I got into server management.
Since then, I've used Flarum for basically everything except it's designed purpose, being a forum, it's been used for: home page of a community radio project, a staff portal / oAuth platform, and a helpdesk.
So thank you Flarum, for essentially starting my career and getting me where I am today.
