Hi thnx for your thoughts and interpretation of my meaning - We can only ever use the words that come from our own mental models and know that models are unique to us π
luceos it's not clear at all what exactly you want, though you seem to be interested in directing
There is no exact question. There is an invitation to share thoughts with an expectation that they will diverge before they converge.
Nope there is no intention to direct.
The opposite in fact
There is curiosity about whether the participants here have insights & interest
I'm not even sure about the right direction so I illustrate that there are directions and the most viable directions might not be any that I have yet perceived
luceos complex language like DAO's, decentralization,
Who said "make everything as simple as possible but no simpler " - a bit of an irony really because for any non Flareum developer this site is a really hard struggle in all of: concepts, assumed knowledge, unavailability of explanatory on ramp, existing conventions, existing relationships....
For flareum developers - who must by their very nature be familiar with coding practises and multiple languages, internet infrastructure etc I do suspect familiarity with blockchain technology is higher than in the general population and that even if Distributed Autonomous Organisation was not something someone knew then 30 seconds with a search engine would return an answer in mostly accessible language.
It's beyond my abilities to say it another way for which I am sorry for my limitations π
When seeking to bring together people from hugely different disciplines to find the synergies that will be groundbreaking there is necessarily going to be the need to patiently revisit conversations that were obvious to the speaker and entirely opaque to listener. That need will be in both directions and even worse when there are more than two interest groups!
luceos However, Flarum never envisioned itself to be a specific product, it is intentionally constructed as a coat rack that you can add
Yes those points are my understanding.
So to use your analogies I'm now saying while the technology wasn't envisioned and the technology is constructed does the community contain individuals for whom a new envisioning might lead to hanging new coats on the rack?
I also think the evolution of general purpose engines is for them to become optimised to niches in which they disappear from the consciousness and that is the evolutionary stage that community software is entering
luceos This might possibly not be within your area of expertise, so the
It's definitely not within my area of expertise and as a guideline That has been something I have steered by for a long time "experience has shown I can do anything it has also shown I cannot do everything" So I have no desire to add it to my expertise's.
However I do think there is a direction here that has significant revenue (in the hundreds of millions p.a) and will be being recognised in different places and there will be people mobilising.
Discuss.flareum is potentially one of the places to expose this opportunity to see who might join a guiding coalition? I think I do have an area of expertise in the field of marshaling diverse interests and connecting them to a future achievement
The DOA gamification component is not a focus area within the whole. The sociology of community amongst people with chronic need is more visible to those who will have to/ can adopt this as a long term therapeutic service architecture.
If we look at Discourse we can see that it is subtly and pervasively influenced by Atwoods previous experiences hence it's backend internal automated surveillance and disciplinary features.
I can't EXACTLY say what a piece of software that is sympathetic to healthcare needs would include but I can illustrate that this is an area where there is potential for functional advantage.
I would guess that therapists will need calendars to schedule therapy sessions. That individuals Will want their current ability and their change over time to be plotted. That there is a convergence of the two with cohort based exercises, that The exercise regime will need to evolve with capability but only if it is sufficiently motivating which is at least partially a component of community peer support.
Peer support also has major emotional costs and benefits. Is it possible that software features can be aware of both? The evolution of a community and of an individual's involvement in that community has a broadly generalizable description. Again it would be relevant to understand the stages and their entry and exit conditions to understand whether a software system assisted or represented barriers to a best journey
There's a lot more that will be necessary
A bunch of us (two universities, the UK NHS & the #StrokeImprovementGroup #SIG) are submitting an application for grant funding to the British Heart Foundation for the exploration of the whole topic Which at this stage is trying to determine what the questions are that will be helpful - hence no exact question.
My feeling, as co-chair to the steering committee is that there is an empty chair at the table That needs to be filled.
Ciao
