🔄 Update: Centralized Configuration Added (April 2025)

This script now supports fully centralized configuration via config.php!

No more editing multiple files. 🎉

✅ New Features:

config.php now holds:
- db_host, db_user, db_name, db_pass
- site_name, site_url
- users_table, settings_table (for custom Flarum prefixes)
- log_token, test_mode, test_email

🛠 Updated Scripts:

run_newsletter.php
unsubscribe.php
log_viewer.php
index.php (optional archive viewer)

All updated files now pull branding, database info, and table names directly from the shared config.

That's what I get on my end.

Edit: Looks like it's killing every emoji and ' that are in the titles...

KBExit I had to make a .htaccess in the newsletter folder with the below. This worked for me, but I do notice, if I edit the file in cPanel, I have to copy and paste from notepad++ or else I get those symbols as well. Its a server side issue from best I can tell, and I imagine someone much smarter than me has a better solution.

This looks like a great extension! It's just that I'm a novice and don't know how to use it

OneHarryPotter It's not at all hard to use really. If you can find patterns you can accomplish this.
You just need to follow the Git to each detail and you should be good to go. Recommend setting up Mailgun API to run these as emails are tricky.
I personally don't use this anymore since I have moved onto using Ghost for newsletters and using Flarum for discussions strictly.

I am not one to bump stuff usually, but I noticed people mentioning a need for something similar to this in a few recent threads, so wanted to bring this up instead of spamming it in other posts that aren't completely related. Hope this helps someone out, if I was a smarter person I would make it into an extension 🙂.

treyb well @stryguardian has an extension they are working on that I believe fills this void and I’m sure it will be released before long.
