Jake Wilson the proposal that i've opened and probably this proposal both somehow alligns in which AI to support moderation and automation, but, for an effective moderation and automation via AI, it is slightly complex especially as an open source.
So, to start on AI, the best would be is to do what in common it is already doing and where it is currently being used widely which is generating responses. Now, coming to the use case of generating responses which is probably closely related to the question in mind:
Why users need to appear in our forum rather than directly utilising AI?
The answer is simple:
- First, AI to be set to provide responses to New Discussions while waiting for other users to participate and engage. Rather than being empty, it's filled [contented] with something, especially if the discussion is closely related to support such as requesting support etc rather than brainstorming, survey or opinionated based discussion.
- Second, users with higher hierarchy [by badge, level, rank] could be provided with better AI model - probably those with higher accuracy and image generation capabilities to assist them with their replies in discussion such as auto correction, generate image as per reply context, fact check or reference attachment etc or even to assist them better while they initiate a discussion to make the discussions even more contentful [Image, Sources etc]. P/s: the first point of use was to make it contented [filled] and this is to make it even more contentful [attractive].
- Third, generating Summaries etc.
Market Survey [Positive Example] :
Just have a look at Meta, they recently released Meta AI while owning Facebook, Instagram, Threads etc, and, what does Meta AI does? The same - Communicate, Generate Images etc which what basically communication and content which suppose to be what facebook is used for and instagram is actually for but then yet, doesn't impact in any way. Meta came up with a standalone product [Meta AI] which could actually effect its primary line of components [Facebook, Instagram, Threads] but it did not effect. While on flarum here, instead of doing the same, we are integrating it with our forum itself as a part of the functionality of the forum and at the end of the day, Discussions are bound to be on the forum itself.
