I would like to send email to a user when someone mentions them using @
I've searched a bit for extensions related to Email and found none. Please share if you know any

Nezam the Mentions extension has a notification setting for this out of the box.

If you want to enable it by default for all users, you can use this extension https://discuss.flarum.org/d/18607-friendsofflarum-default-user-preferences

Note that the more notifications you have enabled by default, the more outbound emails you're likely to have to send. This can increase your cost if you pay per email, or make setting up an asynchronous queue a priority to keep requests fast.

Thanks for the tip. Does it work for future new users or applies to existing users also. I'm seeing no email activity with existing posts.

Nezam Are you sure you have mail configured on your server? Or that they aren't going to the spam folder? Might have to look into setting up SMTP or Mailgun on your end to deliver mail.
