What does it take to become Flarum Staff?

I'm just wondering what the necessities are for being able to "work" with Flarum.

Any Age specifications? Degrees? Lol. Developing experiences? Anything like that?

Very curious. That's it. Might join if I seem to fit in. Lol. But I know that's a less likely.

Hello Hany, I'm not sure what your are talking about, so let's make a few things spread out;

Flarum Staff are all people who actively commit to this project, this not only includes the Core devs, but also every moderator and admin. You become staff by joining any of the teams.
The core developer team (Toby and Franz) are those that actively develop the package(s) of Flarum. Becoming a core developer is invite only and is based on your activity, your pull request history and your overall bearing as a person. There has been discussion of appointing additional core devs, but not soon yet.
Moderators are those people that keep these forums a friendly place. Moderator positions are opened whenever there is a need to increase our capacity and also is invite only. At this point we have no need for additional moderators.
There are some other roles which become apparent related on need. People who show their commitment to the project and are interested in helping out will never be turned away. Speaking of which we could use some people to work on the new documentation for instance ?

Except for a core developer position, there is most likely no obvious requirement. Nevertheless we do select people on their behavior on this community. Because noone wants a dick to represent their brand.

Aside from these people that are part of staff there are plenty of people creating extensions for Flarum. In order to work with that you'd need some basic knowledge about Laravel and mithrill, but that depends completely on what you want to build. We have an active Gitter chat channel were we try to assist devs as much as possible.

Hope this helps. Once I have a little bit more time I'll set up some more information on the above roles and about getting involved into the project.

Just wanted to add to this, there's no barrier to contributing as a non-staff member. On our Github project, you can confirm an issue, contribute discussion or submit a pull request if you have the skills. If not, feel free to contribute here. Contribute to discussions on feature topics, propose a new feature that no one has brought up before, chat about stuff in Off-Topic, show off your site in Showcase, develop an extension if you have the skills, or just show your support for Flarum.

We love seeing our community members take part wherever they can. We don't expect them to be superheroes, or that everyone walking through the door will become a staff member. You can just be a fan, and that's totally okay. Except for Toby, it's how we all started.
