Hi,

I am informed by Bing Webmaster Tools:

Large number of pages pointing to the same canonical URL for domain

http://mydomain.org/

Canonical tags can be used to help de-dupe URLs for pages with the same or very similar content. Bing has detected that your site is using what appears to be the same canonical URL for a large number of pages that are not the same. This may be indicative of a problem with your HTML template, content publishing system, or site code. You should review the source of your pages and check if the URLs used inside the <link rel="canonical" href="<url>" /> are not accidentally pointing to the same location for all (or too many) pages.

I search on the forum, and doesn't find other people has the same issue.

Can anyone please help?

ash3T do you have a list of pages that are reported as duplicate? Most importantly, their paths. We need to know which extension those pages come from, or whether they are built-in Flarum pages.

KBExit the concern here likely relates to canonical paths, not canonical domains. The Canonical URL extension only handles the problem of canonical domains. The canonical path is taken care of by Flarum out of the box, and extensions have access to the tools to make their own pages compliant.

Problems can sometimes be caused by anti-bot protections from the webhost, that add custom parameter to page URLs, and cause those redundant URLs to be indexed by search engines.

Have you looked for extensions pertaining to this? Perhaps https://discuss.flarum.org/d/19307-canonical-url-redirect can help? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you both for reply and helping out.

I did not find any report given by the search engine Bing. Even though the notification was sent out by Bing.

However, I did notice that when I do a google search "美味健康豆食谱 LENTIL BAKE livecan.net", I found the following result:

The first link goes to the right page.

And the second link goes to the home page. Is it normal? To have the second link as the search result of a flarum post, but actually won't link to the post itself? Does this an example of "Large number of pages pointing to the same canonical URL for domain", which lead to home page.

Is this normal for your flarum site? the search result leads to the home page, if click this it doesn't go the actually post link.
