Fof Gamification will not enable

I am having an issue enabling this extension (fof/gamification). It appears to install correctly and I am clearing the cache...but when I press the enable button, I get the "Please Wait" modal for a second. Then it goes away and the Enable button is still inactive.

I have tried this several times. I have also un-installed it, and the re-installed this extension. This is the only extension this is happening with. Any thoughts? Thank you!

You said you installed it before.
You should hit the "Purge" button on the extension page and then clear cache. Then hit the enable button. I've had this issue before with other extensions, I think it's a database thing.

Purging tries to use the down functionality provided in the extension database migrations. Their use is to undo every change made in every migration file of the given extension going from the newest to the oldest. This will indeed completely uninstall extension database tables.

Some considerations though:

not every extension implements this "down" feature and so purge might not do anything useful
even though these down features might have been implemented, not every developer tests them
even if developers test them, with extensions that have been around for a very long time, issues might still exist on different environments

TLDR: purging supposedly removes all your database tables and changes made to core tables if the relating extension, but there's no guarantee this works all the time.
