I appreciate the suggestion to use the Extension Manager, and I agree that it would be a much simpler solution.
However, my web hosting provider has disabled SSH access, which means Composer doesn't work on the server side. As the Extension Manager relies on Composer to install and update extensions, it unfortunately doesn't function for me.
That's why I'm forced to use this manual process: updating the project locally with Composer and then uploading the files to the server via FTP. It's not ideal, but it's the only way for me to keep the forum updated and install new extensions.
