Editing an email template the right way

So I host a forum that has a fair expectation of privacy, and one problem that a participant raised concerns the emails that are sent out when someone requests notification of a follow-up post on a discussion that they are subscribed to. The email includes the text of the post, which is not ideal. I tried hand-editing the flarum-subscriptions/email/new-post key in vendor/flarum/subscriptions/locale/en.yml, but that didn't work because I don't know how to make the forum regenerate the template. But obviously editing stuff in vendor/ is a stupid idea! How do I do it properly? I want to make the forum work exactly as it already does except for this one change to one email template. What's the approved method for such a change?

erictfbat you can use the Linguist extension to modify language keys. That's probably the easiest way right now.

erictfbat have you looked at FoF/PrettyMail? You can customize the look of the email HTML and remove components of it. So if you don't want the text of the post there, just remove the body tag.

KBExit I'll definitely look into that too, though the Linguist plugin did the trick for this particular situation.

That worked! The UI is a bit fiddly when it comes to multi-line templates, but it worked for the case I needed it for. Thank you!
