Allow Own Discussion Rename

This extension is a temporary workaround for flarum/framework#3692. Code logic is taken directly from Flarum Core. It allows discussion authors to rename their own discussions even when they do not have the discussion.rename permission specify by the tag restrictions.

WARNING
This extension use forceAllow() to override the permission from Tags policy. This is intentional but may conflict with other permission-altering extensions.

Test fully before use.

Remove/disable this extension once you upgrade to a version that includes an official fix of the stated issue.

Install with composer:

huoxin Until I came across this extension, I didn’t realize how important something like this could be. I really like its functionality. Would you consider adding an option in the extension settings to set a time limit? For example, allowing edits within 1 hour after the extension is published. Also, it would be great to have a setting that restricts renaming the discussion if someone else has already replied to it. With these features, I believe it would become an even more useful tool for more forums.

huseyinfiliz This extension is suppose to be just a "patch", all the functions are already in the core. You should be able to toggle between: allow edit totally, allow edit for 10 minutes and allow edit until someone has replied. (can be seen in the first image, you will see this when you go to the Permissions tab, which is at the left side of admin panel)

For customising time limit, personally I feel that the 10 minutes provided in core should be good enough, most of the time when people see a mistake in their title, they would rename it right away

If there is really a need for customising time limit, I think would be better to create a new extension for it, as this extension should be abandoned once this issue is fixed

This extension offers a neat workaround — letting discussion creators rename their own threads even if the tag permissions don’t allow it by default. but it uses forceallow() to override tag policies, so it might clash with other permission-changing plugins. Best to test it thoroughly, and once flarum delivers a proper fix for the underlying issue, disable or remove the extension.
