📥 Installation

You can also install with Extension Manager: huseyinfiliz/custom-profile-page

⚙️ Configuration

After installation, go to Admin Panel → Extensions → Custom Profile Page to configure:

Tab Title - Customize the profile tab name
Tab Icon - Set a FontAwesome icon
URL Slug - Define the URL path
Content Format - Choose Markdown, HTML, or Plain Text
Allowed HTML Tags - Control which HTML tags are permitted
Enable Media Embeds - Toggle YouTube video embedding

🔐 Permissions

Configure permissions in Admin Panel → Permissions:

View custom profile pages - Who can view pages (default: Everyone)
Edit own custom profile page - Who can create/edit their own page (default: Members)
Moderate custom profile pages - Who can edit any user's page (default: Moderators)

♻ Updating

composer update huseyinfiliz/custom-profile-page
php flarum cache:clear

To remove simply run composer remove huseyinfiliz/custom-profile-page

🎉 v0.2 - Default Template Feature

✨ What's New

🎨 Default Template System: Admins can now set a default template that automatically appears when users create their custom profile page for the first time.

How it works:

Users see an empty state when visiting their custom page for the first time
When they click "Edit Page", the editor opens with the admin-defined template pre-filled
Users can edit, customize, or completely replace the template content
If a user already has a custom page, their existing content is never touched

Perfect for:

Maintaining a consistent style across user profiles
Providing guidance on what information to include
Reducing friction for new users who don't know where to start
Creating structured profile sections (Bio, Interests, Contact, etc.)

⚙️ Configuration

Navigate to Admin Panel > Extensions > Custom Profile Page and you'll find a new "Default Template" textarea setting where you can define your template content.

Example Template:

Welcome to my profile! 👋

## Bio
Tell others about yourself...

## Interests
- Interest 1
- Interest 2
- Interest 3

## Contact

Suggestions for improvement — the ability to set a template that’s automatically created when a user registers.
If there’s a goal to keep everything in a consistent style, the template would help users avoid starting their pages from scratch 👀

Capybara i think that would require too much effort on dev side. I don't mind to have it as it is. Each user might format their entry as they please.

I'd love to try out this extension - your work always looks promising! Admin Panel works fine, but unfortunately when I click on the Custom Profile Page link ( /u/username/custom-profile-page) I get an 404 error and it immediately redirects to the forum homepage. I tried a reinstall, but the issue remains. Can you think of any issue with another extension?

I did indeed change the URL Slug several times, but deleted the cache afterwards. I also deinstalled the extension and manually reinstalled it via composer

php flarum cache:clear

but the issue persists - even if I reset the url slug to "customPage" it can not be found and seems not to be created at all.

I'm sorry I cannot share the forum, since it is used strictly private with a small group and fully closed to public access.
Do you have any further ideas on how to debug this? Anything I could check out in the database or in the cached composer files? Or any suspicous extension I should deactivate?

dragsugur Yes, it’s technically possible, but it would require modifying Flarum’s core routing system. That’s quite a complex task for a free extension, and I don’t think it’s a feature that would be widely used beyond a few forums.

If it’s something you really need, I can help implement it as a paid customization.

I also changed the URL slug as you suggested, but I’m not experiencing the issue you mentioned.

Is there anything else showing up in the Flarum logs, browser console (F12), or server logs?

My forum runs at mydomain.com/forum/ - so my config.php looks like this:

All urls in the item navigation on the profile page consider this correctly except the Custom Profile Page item:

Do you think this can be solved easily?
